Kamas Valley
Preservation Association

Do you love the Kamas Valley? We do too! Our immense respect for its natural beauty and the agricultural lifestyle is the main reason we set up this association. We are a group of public citizens and volunteers concerned about the current growth and development proposals that are taking place in the Kamas Valley without our involvement.

Our MissionFormed in March 2025 in response to strong outside pressure, our nonprofit works to preserve the historic rural and agricultural character of the Kamas Valley by promoting community-based approaches to future development. Through education, public forums, and advocacy, we empower residents to protect the valley’s environment, wildlife, traditions, and way of life. We believe that an informed community is best suited to help guide development decisions, and that profit-driven individuals and corporations should not be the sole voice, nor the loudest.
Our First Initiative: West Hills Opposition

The West Hills proposal seeks to incorporate a new town between Kamas and Hideout, covering approximately 3,600 acres in Summit County, Utah.

The proposal gives undue influence to the developer and a very small minority of Kamas Valley residents who are within the proposed boundary the power to vote on and decide on development. That is not reflective of community-based local control of land-use decisions, and ignores the existing population's desires and expectations to exercise their own property rights.

While this website is now just a bare bones structure, we decided to ‘go live’ as the outside pressures are relentless and time is short. We envision eventually developing community outreach programs, calendars, and educational materials regarding Kamas valley history, geography, environment and wildlife; all with associated website sections. We are looking for more people to get involved. Please help us preserve Kamas valley today!
